Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin and asked him, ‘Tell me about the description of the Messenger of God
which is mentioned in Torah."" He replied, "Yes. By God, he is mentioned in the Torah with his qualities found
in the Qur'an as follows:
0 Prophet! We have sent you as a witness, and a giver of glad tidings, And a warner, and guardian of the
illiterates.
You are My servant and My Messenger. | have named you al-Mutawakkil (meaning ‘one who depends upon
God’).
You are neither discourteous, harsh, nor a noise-maker in the markets; You do not do evil to those Who do evil
to you, but you deal With them with forgiveness and kindness.

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet,
whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel,
who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong
makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil|
and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them.
